Sunrex was reborn from our own inspiration (and our own frustration). In a market full of extremes, we saw an opportunity. On one side, mass-produced watches that lose their charm. On the other, luxury pieces priced far out of reach.
We wanted to make something different. A watch that blended vintage charm with modern technology. Something dependable. Timeless. Something you'd reach for every day, not just on special occasions.
Our commitment is simple: to craft watches that make you fall in love with wearing a watch again. Designed to slow you down, remind you of the past, and reconnect you with a time when things were built to last.
A Legacy of Watchmaking
Intentional design
Sunrex began in 1975, founded by our father in Taiwan with a vision for building sleek, stainless steel digital watches that were ahead of their time. These watches were the smartphones of their day — modern, innovative, and quietly futuristic.
When the market shifted, so did we. In 1978, our family moved to Hong Kong and transitioned from digital to analog production. It wasn’t just a business move, but the beginning of a legacy. Over the years, Sunrex watches found their way onto wrists around the world, quietly doing what they do best: keeping time in style.
In 2002, we, Ray and Chi, joined the family business, bringing with us a fresh perspective and a deep respect for the craft. Over the next two decades, we designed and manufactured more than 100 million watches. Each model became a reflection of our dedication to quality, innovation, and integrity.

But after years of building watches for other brands, we wanted something more. We wanted to create a brand that told our story. To design watches that reflected what we loved about the past, without compromising on the technology of today.
So in 2018, Sunrex was reborn, not just as a brand, but as a passion project. A tribute to everything we love about watchmaking: craftsmanship, simplicity, dependability, and good design.
We set out to make watches that feel personal. Vintage-inspired, but modern in movement. Beautifully built, but made for the everyday. Powered by solar light, they don’t require winding, charging, or battery swaps, just wear it and go. Every Sunrex watch is a nod to the past, designed for the present, and made to last.
